Blurring the lines between pop culture and real life, true crime-obsessed "citizen detectives" have banded together in cities throughout the nation to dig up new evidence for their pet cases. This is the origin of The Cold Case Club.
Over ⅓ Americans who listen to podcasts listen to true crime. In fact, of the hundred of thousands of podcast available, over ¼ are true crime focused. Crime has always dominated TV, and now- in a meta twist- true crime has crossed (back) over, with the success of Only Murders in the Building. We’re now making that hit show real with Cold Case Club.
This series exists in two parts; first, assembling the Cold Case Club Members, and second, letting them do their work. With mix of obsessive fans of the genre, retired professionals, aspiring experts, even, perhaps, a psychic, our club will get to work to see if they can apply the skills they’ve learned from shows, pods, movies, and books to real life and solve cases that have eluded the police for years. Sometimes they’ll succeed, other times it’ll be a dead-end, but in all instances this will be the ultimate life or death social experiment.
