Forget burgers and fries, the fast food revolution goes frank as chefs, TikTok stars, and everyday heroes compete for their shot at hot dog franchise royalty.
Why, in the wide world of fast food, are there so few restaurants specializing in hot dogs, an American staple? While some popular chains might offer a hot dog as part of their expansive menu, no major national fast food brand is focused on dogs as its primary product. There is no McDonald’s, or even Burger King, of hot dogs. The lack of a popular national hot dog chain is the most glaring omission in the fast food landscape. It’s time to change that. Now, America’s most populist food gives rise to its newest and most populist competition – hot dog cart vendors, food truck entrepreneurs, gourmet chefs, TikTok stars, home cooks and more will all compete for the throne – in this case, a package of money and benefits to launch a franchise – and put their business and bratwurst skills to the test and see if they have what it takes to become the tubed meat royalty. As iconic series’ like Game of Thrones have shown us, royalty can take unexpected forms, so this competition is open to everyone – backyard grillers will battle Michelin starred chefs – with the 10 aspiring monarchs who win the support of the Royal Council – a group composed of hot dog loving celebrities, noted chefs, and even Nathan’s hot dog eating champions – making it to the final battle. With challenges running the gamut from recreating iconic dogs, to marketing their business plan to investors, to creating viral buzz online, to wowing hot dog loving citizens with their original creations, this series will separate winners and whiners in the world of wieners. And like any quest for the crown, there will be alliances, backstabbing, scheming, sabotage and more – this is a cut-throat battle to find true hot dog royalty. This is much more than a “who cooked it best” food competition – this is a social experiment, a business battle, and an all-out quest for an opportunity for someone to take their skills, schemes, and concepts to the next level, and become America’s next (and first) mainstream hot dog franchise owner.
